Terms & Conditions

The agreement between you and Turas Immigration when you use this website, request information, or retain professional services. Read it before you book — by booking, you accept it.

§ 01Who we are

Turas Immigration is a Canadian immigration consultancy operated by Vanessa Constantino de Almeida, a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) in good standing with the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC) and a member of the Canadian Association of Professional Immigration Consultants (CAPIC).

In these Terms, "Turas", "we", "our" and "us" mean Turas Immigration. "You" means the visitor or client using this website or our services. The website is turasimmigration.ca.

§ 02What these terms cover

These Terms govern your use of the website and any free interaction with us (forms, emails, the discovery call). Paid engagements are also covered by a separate Retainer Agreement signed before work begins; if there is any conflict, the Retainer Agreement controls.

  • Use of turasimmigration.ca and its content
  • The free initial assessment
  • Booking and paying for a Consultation or Application Review
  • Email and form-based communications with our office

§ 03No solicitor–client relationship from the website alone

Reading this site, sending us a contact form, or having a discovery call does not create a solicitor–client or consultant–client relationship. A formal relationship begins only when you and Turas have signed a written Retainer Agreement and you have paid the agreed fee.

Information on this site is general and for educational purposes only. It is not legal advice and should not be relied on as the basis for any immigration decision.

§ 04Our services

Turas offers boutique, fixed-fee professional services including (without limitation):

  • Consultation — a 60-minute review of your immigration options and recommended next steps.
  • Application Review — PR — a document-by-document audit of a Permanent Residence package against IRCC requirements.
  • Full-representation retainers for specific applications, where we agree to act as your authorized representative before IRCC.

Fees, scope, deliverables and timelines for each engagement are set out in the Retainer Agreement. Government fees, biometrics, language tests, medical exams, translations, courier and similar third-party costs are not included in our professional fees.

§ 05What we can and cannot promise

We exercise the standard of care expected of an RCIC and are bound by the CICC Code of Professional Conduct. We will give you our honest professional opinion, including refusing to take on a case we don't believe in.

No outcome guarantees. Decisions on visas, permits, permanent residence and citizenship are made by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and other authorities — not by us. Eligibility rules, processing times and policy can change without notice. Nothing on this site or in our communications is a guarantee of approval, processing time, or score.

§ 06Your obligations

You agree to:

  • Provide complete, accurate and truthful information and documents.
  • Disclose anything that could affect admissibility — past refusals, criminal history, medical issues, prior misrepresentation, ties to other applications.
  • Respond to our requests for information within the time we ask, especially when IRCC deadlines apply.
  • Pay invoices on the agreed schedule.
  • Not forward, share or republish documents we prepare for you without our written permission.

Misrepresentation is a serious offence under section 127 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. We will withdraw from any file in which we discover or suspect misrepresentation, and we are required to report it where the law requires us to do so.

§ 07Fees, payments & currency

All fees on this site and in our agreements are quoted in Canadian dollars (CAD) and are exclusive of any applicable sales tax (HST/GST). Payments are processed by our payment provider; by paying, you accept their terms in addition to ours.

Refund eligibility is set out in our Refund Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms.

§ 08Bookings, cancellations & rescheduling

Appointments booked through the site (Consultations and Application Reviews) require payment in advance to hold a slot. You may reschedule once at no charge with at least 24 hours' notice. Cancellations and no-shows are subject to the Refund Policy.

§ 09Confidentiality & privilege

Information you share with us is treated as confidential from the very first email and is handled in accordance with the CICC's Code of Professional Conduct and our Privacy Policy. We will not disclose your information except to advance your file, with your consent, or where the law requires.

§ 10Intellectual property

All content on this website — text, images, logos, code, downloadable templates and checklists — is owned by or licensed to Turas Immigration and is protected by Canadian and international copyright. You may view it for personal, non-commercial use. You may not reproduce, republish, scrape, train AI models on, or sell our content without prior written permission.

Documents we draft for you (submission letters, legal memoranda, checklists) are licensed to you for use in the specific application they were prepared for. The underlying templates and know-how remain ours.

§ 11Third-party links & services

The site links to government websites (IRCC, the CICC public register), payment providers, and tools such as Google Calendar. We do not control those services and are not responsible for their content, availability or terms.

§ 12Disclaimers & liability

The website is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, Turas disclaims all implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Our total aggregate liability arising from or in connection with our services or this site is limited to the professional fees you have paid us for the engagement giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for losses caused by acts of IRCC or other third parties.

Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be excluded by law, including under the CICC's regulatory framework or applicable consumer protection legislation.

§ 13Complaints & regulator

We hope you'll raise concerns with us first — email vanessa@turasimmigration.ca and we'll respond promptly. If a concern can't be resolved directly, you have the right to file a complaint with the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants at college-ic.ca.

§ 14Governing law & jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in it. The courts of Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, subject to any mandatory dispute-resolution requirements imposed by the CICC.

§ 15Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version published at turasimmigration.ca/legal/terms.html on the date you book or sign a Retainer Agreement is the version that applies to that engagement. Material changes will be flagged at the top of this page.
